​SU Council's Commission starts 'purple face' investigation

The Council of Stellenbosch University has appointed a Commission of Enquiry to investigate the manner in which the events that took place at Heemstede Residence on or about 4 February 2016 and thereafter (the 'purple face' incident), were dealt with.

Advocate Renata Williams SC has been appointed as the commissioner.

The Commission of Enquiry commenced sitting on Wednesday, 16 March 2016.

The Chair of Council, Mr George Steyn, has appealed to the media and the public to afford Advocate Williams SC an opportunity to complete her investigation. Her report is to be submitted by 30 March 2016. Advocate Williams SC will not be available for media enquiries and/or interviews during the investigation.
