The Engineering Open Day on Saturday 20 April took place in perfect weather and the turnout was very good. This popular annual event is the Faculty's most important marketing initiative.

Students and personnel welcomed everybody with open arms to show how science and technology can be used to make the world a better place for all. The demonstrations and exhibits by the five engineering departments enchanted one and all.

Sessions presented by the Dean and Vice-Deans were extremely popular. During these sessions they conveyed important information regarding degree programmes and other relevant information for prospective students.

Several companies that offer bursaries were also present at the Open Day.

The 400 engineering students who handled the demonstrations or who acted as tour guides, looked wonderful in their beautiful green T-shirts sponsored by Aurecon.
